Summary

Crooklyn is the story of a girl, Troy Carmichael, who is growing up in Brooklyn, the only girl in a family with four brothers. Troy falls somewhere in the middle of the birth order with older and younger siblings. Her parents and siblings add to the story as do the neighbors and neighborhood kids. We see her family experience highs and lows as they all undergo life changes over the course of a summer. But the movie is really about Troy coming of age as a Black girl from a lower middle class family in Brooklyn.
