Summary
Teddy Pendergrass: If You Don’t Know Me is an inspirational 2018 documentary directed by Olivia Lichtenstein about the life and career of the legendary R&B singer. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Teddy as he was affectionately known was one of the most successful musicians from the Philly Soul era of the 1970s. After releasing a string of five platinum albums, plans were being put in place to capitalize on his equally good looks and have Teddy crossover to the mainstream and movies to become an even bigger star. But an unfortunate accident at the age of 31 changed the course of his career and life.
